Dr Fenja T. Ringl is a Canberra-based printmaker with a passion for nature-influenced art that reflects Australia’s unique ecological and cultural environments. With a professional background in archaeology, palaeo-ecology and science communication, Fenja draws inspiration from years of travelling and working across Australia’s diverse landscapes. Fenja initially explored printmaking as a way of interpreting the natural world while on fieldwork many years ago, and has since developed her passion into a full-time printmaking occupation/obsession.

This term, Fenja will be running a printmaking workshop which will blend linocut printmaking and ceramics in order to create beautiful lino-embossed porcelain art or jewelry. Over two days and two weeks, carve a nature inspired motif into a Japanese vinyl lino plate, roll out your own thin discs of porcelain, emboss your design and then add vibrant colours either before or after you fire your piece.
