About the Course:

Over a weekend in June you will learn the techniques to improve the use your camera for better bird photography. The classes cover everything from camera equipment, managing difficult light conditions, lenses, focusing techniques, composition, bird behavior, common mistakes, trip planning and digital editing. This course includes hands on practical exercises and a field trip to apply techniques learnt in the classes.

About the Venue:

Learn with an award-winning bird photographer and connect with nature through photography! The course will be held at the Rainforest Discovery Centre at the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, near Maleny, Queensland. Mary Cairncross comprises of 55 hectares of subtropical rainforest. In addition to the Rainforest Discovery Centre the reserve boasts a café which has views across the Glass House Mountains landscape. On the second day of the course, we will visit the rainforest which is an ideal location to test your newly acquired photography skills. The rainforest bird list includes Noisy Pittas, Paradise Riflebird, Rufous Fantails and Yellow Throated Scrubwrens.

Saturday 25 June - 9.30am to 4.30pm (Studio)

Sunday 26 June 8.30am to 12.00pm (Field trip), 1.00pm to 3.00pm (Studio)

This is an adult beginner to intermediate level course using your own equipment. You should be familiar with the operation and settings of your own equipment.

About the Tutor:

Danny McCreadie is an award-winning nature photographer. He has travelled extensively throughout Australia and internationally, pursuing his passion for wildlife photography. His field observations and accompanying photographs have been published in a number of journals. His photographs have also been published in books, magazines, newspapers and websites, on information signs and exhibited in museums. Danny has a particular interest in raptors, but he has considerable experience across most nature photography disciplines.

Any cancellations made by the purchaser are refunded (or held in credit) for the total amount LESS a $60 administrative processing fee.
