🌸 NatureArt Lab at Floriade
Celebrate spring with NatureArt Lab at Floriade, Canberra’s much-loved celebration of flowers, colour and the natural world.
Join us at Garden House in Commonwealth Park for a series of short, hands-on sessions inspired by flowers, plants and the changing season. Through art, science and close observation, our tutors will guide you to slow down, look closely and discover new ways of seeing the natural world.
These relaxed sessions are welcoming and accessible, whether you’re a regular maker or simply curious to try something new. No previous art experience is needed, and all materials are provided.
Come along, get creative and experience Floriade from a different perspective. 🌿✨

Floral Fantasy with Xiaochen (Fiona) Bao
- Immerse yourself in the captivating colours of Floriade and unleash your inner artist. Join this inspiring acrylic painting workshop and learn to create a vibrant work of art inspired by the festival’s iconic tulips or other beautiful flowers. No experience is required – just a passion for flowers, nature and creativity.

Wonders of Wattle with Karen Holloway
The wattle season is here! Throughout the Floriade gardens there are many wattles in bloom. Create a wattle painting with transparent watercolours, with insights into the many wattle species and their botanical characteristics! Play with beautiful colours and enjoy some creative time in the gardens of Floriade.

Nature Journalling with Ami Amlani
Create a nature journal of your Floriade experience! Receive your very own visual art diary and explore the colours and patterns of the gardens at Floriade. Slow down, immerse yourself in the beauty of nature with closer observation, and use all your senses. Take home something special and learn a special practice that will change the way you see the world.

Led by members of the NatureArt Lab tutor team, including Xiaochen (Fiona) Bao, Ami Amlani and Karen Holloway, these workshops invite you to explore flowers and plants through art, science and close observation.
Each workshop runs for two hours, with materials and tuition included.

COVID-19 Policy: NatureArt Lab participants attending studio courses, workshops and nature tours are required to comply with current COVID-19 state policies. Please check current policies for your state location.
Class Refund Policy: Any changes or cancellations made by NatureArt Lab for any reason are 100% refunded or credited (for use on another course). Any cancellations made by the purchaser are refunded (or held in credit) for the total amount LESS a $60 administrative processing fee. Special consideration for waiving the $60 fee for compassionate/ extraordinary circumstances can be granted by NatureArt Lab by writing to info@natureartlab.com.au.
