NatureArt Lab offers participants the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and immerse themselves in art inspired by nature. Select a series of courses to suit your interests, and consider developing your foundation skills through a better understanding of colour theory, drawing skills or use of water-based mediums such as watercolour or gouache. Our team of experienced tutors will support your creative learning journey with expert instruction and guidance in a fully equipped art-science space.
Intermediate Botanical Watercolour - with Cheryl Hodges
This short course with professional botanical illustrator Cheryl Hodges, is specially designed for students with an interest in continuing their botanical art practice. Students will be encouraged to select their own botanical subject and specimens, and will receive individualised project guidance from Cheryl. Our NatureArt Lab microscopes, lights and plant dissecting kits will be available if required.
Cheryl will provide demonstrations of specific watercolour technical skills including washes, glazing and dry brush work.
Suitable for intermediate level students with some botanical art experience. Refreshments available. Please bring your own materials for this workshop.
