Studio Course: THE THEORY, ART AND PRACTICE OF NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY, 17 May - 7 June 2022 (Beginners to Intermediate)
Learn all the basics of nature photography and how to successfully photograph wildlife (from insects to mammals), landscapes and nature in general!
Learn how to be technical and creative with your nature photography. Over four three-hour sessions you will learn to use your camera and the techniques to manage your camera for good results. The classes cover everything from camera equipment, exposure, lenses, getting sharp images, light, composition, macro and close-up, flash, approaching animals and digital editing. This course also includes a hands-on practical field trip to apply techniques learnt in the classes. Create a portfolio of photographs that you can be proud of!
Class dates: Tuesday evenings 17 May - 7 June 2022, Sunday 5 June 2022 (field trip all day) - total of 18 hours tuition
Studio times: 6.00pm - 9.00pm (for all days except Sunday 5 June)
Field Trip: (8.30am - 12.30pm at Australian National Botanical Gardens; Studio 1.30 - 4.30pm)
Venue (Studio): NatureArt Lab, M16 Artspace, 21 Blaxland Crescent, Griffith
Experience/Pre-requisites: This is an adult beginner to intermediate level course using your own equipment. A materials/equipment list will be emailed to you a month prior to the start of the course.
Damien is a nature photographer and biologist, originally from Chile, and now an Australian resident. Both professions have taken him all around the world to visit wild and remote places. He has a PhD in evolutionary biology of reptiles, and is working in a post-doctoral research position at the Australian National University. He has described eight new species of lizard, authored many research papers, book chapters and a book. His photography has also been published in several books, exhibits, museums, magazines, newspapers and websites. He is also a photography instructor with NatureArt Lab, teaching a comprehensive nature photography course, macro photography workshops and accompanying our nature tours to Australian, South-East Asian, Central & South American destinations. Damien has an avid interest in snakes and lizards, but his photography interests and skills cover a wide array of subjects, going from the tiny world of insects, to the action photography of birds, from long exposure and flash night photography, to underwater photography. He is able to cater for all nature photography enthusiasts

Any cancellations made by the purchaser are refunded (or held in credit) for the total amount LESS a $60 administrative processing fee.
