Kids Workshops

NatureArt Lab offers participants the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and immerse themselves in art inspired by nature. Select a series of courses to suit your interests, and consider developing your foundation skills through a better understanding of colour theory, drawing skills or use of water-based mediums such as watercolour or gouache. Our team of experienced tutors will support your creative learning journey with expert instruction and guidance in a fully equipped art-science space.

NatureArt Kids Club - Native Bees - 26 May 2019 (PLACES STILL AVAILABLE!)




Join our monthly NatureArt Kids Club art and science adventures for an exciting exploration of nature in the gardens. Discover, look and learn through drawing and observation, nature journaling, painting and hands-on activities. Our sessions include themes such as: getting to know the birds, insects, marsupials and reptiles as well as the unique Australian plant communities featured in the gardens. 

Our programs are specially designed for children aged from 5-12 years. Two groups will be offered: one for children aged from 5-8 years, and a second group for children aged from 9-12 years.

Our tutors are professional science communicators and artists with a passion for fun-filled educational activities.  

The cost is $48.00 per session. Parents are welcome to join us for the final  30 minutes of these sessions.

Sunday 26 May, 10.00am - 12.00noon

Topic: Native Bees - learn more about why bees are so important in the environment! We will look at different species, pollination and create artwork inspired by bees as pollinators. Create an artwork based on bee observation. For older kids we will teach stippling and ink drawing techniques with a look at bees under a microscope, and draw a real bee.
