NatureArt Lab offers participants the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and immerse themselves in art inspired by nature. Select a series of courses to suit your interests, and consider developing your foundation skills through a better understanding of colour theory, drawing skills or use of water-based mediums such as watercolour or gouache. Our team of experienced tutors will support your creative learning journey with expert instruction and guidance in a fully equipped art-science space.
Explore NatureArt 9-12yo School Holiday Program - January 2019
This program is suitable for children aged from 9-12 years. All art materials are provided. A healthy afternoon tea is included.
NatureArt Lab offers a high quality educational art program for children, run by experienced science communicators and artists.
'Explore NatureArt' provides content to support younger children aged 9-12 years. Discover and learn about nature through observation, drawing, painting, nature journaling and craft. Get to know the birds, insects, marsupials, reptiles and the unique Australian plant communities featured in the Gardens.
- Tuesday: Indigenous plants and their uses
- Wednesday: Floral emblem treasure hunt
- Thursday: The world of stick insects
- Friday: Marsupial traces - prints and poos
We aim to support enquiry-based learning, outdoor activities, skills for life and an emphasis on the art-science interface!
All art materials are provided and healthy refreshments are included.
Dates: 29 January - 1 February 2019 (note no session on Monday 28 January public holiday)
Afternoon sessions 1.00pm - 4.30pm
Bookings must be received by 16 January (last minute bookings are not possible); only 15 places per session.
Cost - $50 per session
