Take some time to get to know Canberra’s amazing native grasslands using nature journaling with Julia Landford, Founding Director of NatureArt Lab.

Nature journaling teaches you how to observe more closely, understand form and structure of grasses and this workshop you will learn how to draw and write about grasslands. Learn how to identify a few of Canberra’s most commonly found grasses, and what insects and other wildlife can be found at these locations. Take home your very own nature journal and begin a new journey that is personally rewarding, satisfying for your mental health and wellbeing, as well as promoting advocacy for nature.

The session will enable participants to look more closely at the plant and wildlife species of grasslands, learn about the ecology of these locations and why they are important.

A visual art diary and an ink pen will be provided; please bring along your own graphite pencils, colour pencils. Watercolours are optional.
