BANKSIA SERRATA IN WATERCOLOUR, (date to be confirmed), Intermediate
Celebrate the art of botanical painting and create your own Banksia serrata artwork with experienced botanical artist from Melbourne, David Reynolds!
About the tutor:
David is an experienced botanical and natural history artist who enjoys painting in rich natural pigments, always looking to achieve a high level of accuracy within his work.
He describes his style as ‘Accurate Realism’ and is always looking to portray his botanical and wildlife subjects with the most accurate detail possible yet doing it in a ‘painterly’ way honouring the watercolour medium.
In May 2018, David had two Banksia paintings represented in the World Wide Botanical Art Exhibition held in Canberra – Banksia integrifolia and Banksia serrata. For further information about David's work please see his website at: www.davidreynoldsart.com.au
About the workshop:
Banksias are one of my favourite subjects to paint! Over this two-day workshop we will explore the techniques used to create a beautiful Banksia study with step by step demonstrations and careful planning. Each student will be guided through the process, ensuring confidence to complete our study. Students will learn to hone the techniques necessary for ‘accurate realism’. A detailed line drawing will be available for students to transfer to their watercolour paper. This enables a quick entry into the painting process. Printed photo reference will be supplied and available for each student.
