Canberra Studio Art Course: PRETTY IN INK: FLOWERS IN PEN AND INK - 20 November 2021 (Beginners)
Spring has sprung! Celebrate the most colourful season with striking, flower-themed postcards, in this continuation of the ‘Pretty in Ink’ series.
About your tutor:
Jessica is a bird-enthusiast and science communicator who has been drawing for as long as she can remember. She loves experimenting with new media, painting with bright colours and using expressive lines.
Jessica has been with NatureArt Lab for the past year, and prior to that has had four years of experience as a graphic designer and freelance artist, while completing her undergraduate and post-graduate degrees. Jessica has worked in an extensive range of mediums, including – but not limited to – watercolour, inks, coloured pencil, chalk pastels and oil paints. She also has a passion for nature and the great outdoors, and is constantly inspired by the world around her.
About the course:
Looking for more cards for the holiday season? Or needing a small, unique and hand-made gift? Make up to fifteen unique, flower-themed cards in this fun, experimental workshop. We will cover the basics of life-drawing and flowers, sketching and lining in pen, and using brightly coloured inks in a variety of ways. We’ll also cover introductory colour theory and composition. Then combine these skills as we try to paint as many postcards as we can.
This workshop is perfect for beginner artists, or those who want to build their confidence and make some fun, expressive art. If you have attended other Pretty in Ink classes, then this is a chance to continue practicing and developing your skills in inks. No prior experience is necessary.
