NatureArt Lab offers participants the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and immerse themselves in art inspired by nature. Select a series of courses to suit your interests, and consider developing your foundation skills through a better understanding of colour theory, drawing skills or use of water-based mediums such as watercolour or gouache. Our team of experienced tutors will support your creative learning journey with expert instruction and guidance in a fully equipped art-science space.
Introduction to Pastels and Pastel Pencils Term Two 2019 - with Ellouise Theron
Learn how to use pastels and pastel pencils over a six week course with master pastellist, Ellouise Theron. Learn about the materials and techniques required to create textures and effects with small experimental studies, then progress to create accurate and dynamic pastel paintings using these techniques.You will focus on composition, drawing, the importance of value in a painting and colour theory. Students will be able to use their own reference material or tutor-provided reference.
Suitable for all levels of experience from beginners through to anyone wishing to revise their pastel painting.
If you are new to pastels, materials will be available from the tutor for the first two sessions with a small surcharge - and then you will need to purchase your own pastels. A materials list will be provided on booking. Refreshments are included.
