14 - 28 November 2023, CREATIVE NATURE SKETCHING EVENINGS with Fiona Boxall
This is a relaxed evening course for anyone who enjoys the natural world and would like to be able to record what they see, capturing the colour, life and wonder of that experience.
Course Description:
Learn how to paint and draw vibrant images from nature using your favourite watercolours, gouache, coloured pencils and any other water-based medium you’ve been wanting to try. Make the most of that colour palette you’ve been keeping in the cupboard and finally put brush to paper to celebrate the splash of colour nature provides so generously.
In each class you’ll be guided through a series of exercises that will teach you some basics in sketching, brushwork and colour mixing. In the second half of the class you will put what you have learnt into practice to create a more complete and vibrant image of your chosen subject/s.
The course runs over three weeks, and each week we will focus on a different theme. The first will be leaves, the second butterflies and the final week, flowers. You will be able to splash out and explore the natural beauty all around in a fun and relaxed environment while discovering your own individual style and focus.
During the course, you will be working towards creating a final nature sketch composition including these three elements. You will then have the basic skills to choose your own subjects and compositions in order to continue your own creative journey.
