About the workshop:
During the workshop you will learn all about Australian marine life with information on the key family groups and species. On the first day of the workshop we will study the morphology of selected marine organisms. For that we are going to use the dried specimen of a weedy sea dragon, a dwarf cushion sea star, seashells and other specimens. Using a microscope we will learn about microstructure of these organisms and then produce a detailed technical drawing. On day two we will create a watercolour illustration of your chosen specimen.
Class size is limited to 12 students. Suitable for beginners through to intermediate students; some drawing experience would be an advantage. A materials list will be available after bookings are received.
We recommend that students have some watercolour experience.
Students are requested to bring their own lunch and other snacks for the workshop duration.
