Spend two days in this workshop immersing yourself in the life and beauty of our eucalypts with Fiona Boxall.

  • Dates: 25 - 26 October 2024
  • Day/Time: Fri/Sat 9.30-4.30pm
  • Location: NatureArt LabM16 Artspace, 21 Blaxland Crescent, Griffith, ACT

On the first day we’ll head out to visit some amazing trees and take the morning to sit and sketch them, getting to know all their wrinkles and hollows. Then we’ll head back to the studio for the rest of the day, and the next, to fill a canvas with an acrylic painting of a eucalypt. You’ll become familiar with acrylic paints and learn some new techniques while enjoying an expressive and relaxed few days painting one or two of these wonderful trees. Suitable for anyone who wants to paint a tree or learn more about acrylic paints.

Each student will be able to produce a work that reflects their own experience and response to the tree as a complex and beautiful lifeform. This workshop will suit all levels of experience as it is based on a personal response rather than a purely scientific rendition.

Pre-requisites: This course is suitable for 16+ beginners with little to no drawing experience, or for those wishing to build on the foundations of their drawing using the taught techniques.

Materials:  A list of materials will be sent upon enrolment.  Please check your JUNK and SPAM folders if you haven't seen this email within 2 days.
