About the course:
Beautiful birds are all around us and make a fantastic subject for developing your creative art skills. Over these three weeks, we will develop your confidence in sketching, pen and coloured inks. This course is suitable for beginners, or if you are simply interested in having fun and being more expressive in your art.
This course will begin with sketching and composition skills – we will learn about the different species of birds, their adaptions and environments, and how we can capture this on the page. The second week will focus on colour – the theory, practice and unique qualities of acrylic inks. In our final week we will produce a beautiful final work, based off studies and learnings from the previous weeks.
- Learn about the different bird shapes and their adaptions
- Grow confidence in sketching with graphite and ink pen
- Learn how to use different values to create clear compositions
- Build understanding of colour theory with coloured inks
- Develop expressive skills and have fun with art
This course is suitable for beginners. A materials list will be available after booking.
Please note that we will be observing COVID safety practices for this workshop. Students are requested to bring their own drinks and snacks. NatureArt Lab is monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and reserves the right to postpone the workshop if required at the time.
