Exhibition Overview

See What I See! invites artists, photographers and nature lovers to share their unique perspectives on the extraordinary biodiversity that surrounds us.

Through art and photography, this community exhibition celebrates the beauty, diversity and wonder of Australia's living world. From iconic species to overlooked creatures, native plants, fungi, insects, birds, reptiles and landscapes, the exhibition encourages participants to look closely, observe deeply and share the stories of the natural world through creative expression.

As biodiversity faces increasing pressures across Australia and globally, the exhibition seeks to foster curiosity, connection and care for nature. Every artwork becomes an act of noticing, and every act of noticing can inspire conservation.

The exhibition will feature works by NatureArt Lab tutors, students and community members, showcasing diverse artistic styles, media and perspectives united by a shared appreciation for the richness of life on Earth.

Visitors and exhibitors are invited to contribute a small artwork to our collaborative Biodiversity Wall. Together we will create a visual celebration of Australia's living richness through a collection of artworks representing native species from across the continent. Our goal is to create a wall featuring 100's of Australian species, highlighting both well-known and lesser-known organisms that contribute to healthy ecosystems.

Presented alongside the exhibition program, this series of art demonstrations, talks and hands-on activities invites audiences to connect with artists, explore creative processes and take part in shared learning experiences at M16 Artspace. See our full program below.

· Artist talks and demonstrations: Meet exhibiting artists and learn about their approaches and passion for nature-inspired art.

· Nature tour talks: Learn more about some of our nature tours from participants and what they discovered along the way.

Scientist and conservationist talks: Learn about conservation activities in the Canberra region and how you can contribute to biodiversity protection.

· Nature table: See live insects and learn about invertebrates and other species from scientists.

· Creative activities: Join participatory all-ages activities designed to encourage observation and curiosity about biodiversity.
