Take some time out to sketch and journal, learn more about nature and connect with other members and like-minded nature enthusiasts at NatureArt Lab Queensland's Social Nature Journaling Sessions.
Days/Times: Saturdays 9am-12 noon (dates to be confirmed)
Location: Meet at the Arts & Ecology Centre, Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens, 51 Palm Creek Rd, Tanawha, Sunshine Coast QLD 4554 and be prepared for a short walk to a new area of the Gardens each session.
The Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens located at Tanawha on the Sunshine Coast are ideal for field sketching and nature exploration, with only short walking distances required. A magnificent 82 hectare garden showcasing plants native to the region, it includes a mix of Eucalypt open forest and creek-side rainforest, featuring lagoons, rocky and palm filled gullies, and the headwaters of Mountain Creek which supports a large array of wildlife.
This is a 'do your own project' event and as such there is no guided tuition, but observations and discussions will be themed around local thenology events, flora and fauna. Bring your own materials and ideas, and take inspiration from the stunning natural surroundings of the bushland botanic gardens.
Clothing choice should take into consideration spending a few hours outside, i.e. comfortable footwear, hat, raincoat and insect repellant.
Bookings are required for these sessions; numbers are limited to 20 people. Please select your sessions at checkout, and you will receive a confirmation email.
