Studio Art Course: EXPLORE THE JOY OF PAINTING WITH ACRYLICS - 2 May - 6 June 2022 (Beginners)

About the Course
If you are interested in nature and would love to paint some of the beauty you see, this course will take you through a practical and fully immersive process of creating your own acrylic painting on canvas.
During this comprehensive beginners course you will learn about acrylic paints and other materials required to create a finished acrylic artwork. The course will cover materials, canvas preparation, observation skills, drawing and transferring your drawings to canvas. You will also cover an exploration of colour, tonal values, composition and perspective. Discover the details of bird anatomy and explore finishing touches to create a beautiful finished work. Over six-weeks you will complete a final painting with full direction and step-by-step support from your experienced tutor.

- Days/Times: Mondays, 1.30pm - 4.30pm
- Venue: NatureArt Lab Studio, M16 Artspace, 21 Blaxland Crescent, Griffith; free parking is available at either the front or both sides of the building.
(Students are requested to bring their own drinks/snacks. There is a cafe within a short walk from the Studio).

About the tutor
Yvonna de Jong is passionate about nature and expressing her love of the natural world through creating large Acrylic artworks on canvas. Yvonna is a Canberra-based artist who has been honing her skills of observation and connection with nature for over 20 years through nature photography. Over the last 6 years Yvonna's painting has developed into such a passion, she can now be found most days painting in her studio. Her intention when teaching, is to encourage people to connect with what moves them about nature and develop skills to express this on canvas in their own way. Yvonna is interested in promoting the use of sustainably-sourced and environmentally friendly art materials and approaches.
Refund Policy: Any changes or cancellations made by NatureArt Lab for any reason are 100% refunded or credited (for use on another course). Any cancellations made by the purchaser are refunded (or held in credit) for the total amount LESS a $60 administrative processing fee. Special consideration for waiving the $60 fee for compassionate/ extraordinary circumstances can be granted by NatureArt Lab by writing to firstname.lastname@example.org.
COVID-19 Policy: Students on NatureArt Lab studio courses or workshops are required to comply with all stated COVID-19 requirements specified at the time of booking. This includes showing proof of double vaccination prior to entry at the NatureArt Lab premises, wearing of masks, use of sanitiser during the course/workshop and maintaining social distancing. Any additional COVID-19 related restrictions and/or requirements will be conveyed by email prior to the course/workshop. This policy will be reviewed and amended as ACT Government policy is changed and these changes will also be conveyed to students prior to commencement.
