Course details:
In this introductory course you will learn the techniques to improve the use of your camera for better wildlife photography. The classes cover everything from camera equipment, focusing techniques, photo composition, animal behaviour, holding techniques, common mistakes and how to find wildlife.
This course includes hands on practical exercises and a short field trip to apply techniques learnt in the classes. Whether you are preparing for the trip of a lifetime or want to capture images of your local wildlife, this course will improve your confidence when taking those special photos.
The Venue:
The course will be held at Bunyaville Conservation Park, Bunya Queensland. The park protects a large section of remnant bushland, within easy reach of the city of Brisbane. The theory sessions will be held at Bunyaville Environmental Education Centre, which is located within the park. The practical field trip will be conducted nearby, within the park. The park’s bird list includes Spectacled Monarchs, Rufous Fantails, Barking, Boobook and Powerful Owls, Variegated Fairy Wrens and Forrest Kingfishers.
The Tutor:
Danny McCreadie is an award-winning nature photographer. He has travelled extensively throughout Australia and internationally, pursuing his passion for wildlife photography. His field observations and accompanying photographs have been published in a number of journals. His photographs have also been published in books, magazines, newspapers and websites, on information signs and exhibited in museums. Danny has a particular interest in raptors, but he has considerable experience across most nature photography disciplines.
Experience/Pre-requisites: This is an adult intermediate to advanced level photography course using your own equipment. You should be familiar with the operation and settings of your own equipment.
