STUDIO WORKSHOP: BIRD CAMEO BROOCHES IN ACRYLIC INK, 12 December 2020, Intermediate level
Create your own hand-painted cameo brooch featuring beautiful Australian bird portraits with artist Emily Birks!
About the tutor:
In a world of rapidly escalating environmental issues, I am inspired by the work
Australia's scientists are doing to preserve our native species. My aim is to create highly detailed portraits showing the beauty and character of each animal subject, while also telling the story of their importance to the environment.
About the workshop:
Emily Birks is a Canberra artist who works primarily in acrylic ink, which she loves for its intense colour, layering capabilities and quick-drying characteristics. Join Emily at
NatureArt Lab for a day painting in ink to make your very own character-filled
miniature bird portrait, ready to make into a brooch (kit supplied). Your brooch will be
an ideal Christmas present for a loved one, or a special treat for yourself.
All materials are supplied, but bring your own bird reference photos if you have a
specific bird in mind.
