The Forest Floor in Coloured Pencil - with Jan Clark
Have you ever looked at the intricacies of a forest floor? This two-day workshop will explore the many layers of forest litter, and will expand your understanding of coloured pencil as a medium to create a stunning piece of art inspired by nature.
About the tutor:
Jan Clark is a graduate of the University of Newcastle's Bachelor of Natural History Illustration Course, graduating with First Class Honours and a University Medal. Her work has been exhibited widely in Australian exhibitions, and she is a popular tutor with regular classes in Victoria, NSW and the ACT. Jan is also a skilled textile artist and is a member of Victorian Quilters and Embroiderers Guild, with her work exhibited internationally.
About the workshop:
Learn how to draw a forest floor in a simple sequence of layers that gives the illusion of depth and complexity. The participant will also learn techniques of tone and texture to give realistic form to the different elements which can be applied to all drawings. We will start with graphite pencil and finish with coloured pencil for a delicate and muted palette.
Suitable for all skill levels. A materials list will be provided on booking.
Workshop includes two full days of tuition and refreshments.
