Eucalypts In Art with Halina Steele
As part of the Eucalypts In Art workshop taught by award-winning botanical artist Halina Steele, students learnt to paint some of Australia's gorgeous round-leaf eucalypts. In the class, students delved into exploring techniques to create highlights, depth, and textures that would effectively capture the unique shapes and colours of the leaves.
Australia boasts a rich and diverse range of flora, and one of the largest groups that stands out is the Eucalyptus genus, consisting of over 800 species spread across three genera: Angophora, Corymbia, and Eucalyptus. These native plants are not only iconic but also play a vital role in Australia's natural environment, earning recognition worldwide.
Participants discovered the intricacies of illustrating these remarkable plants, honing their artistic skills while nurturing a deep love for Australia's unique flora. Thank you to Halina for sharing her expertise and to all participants for their attendance and beautiful creations! 🌿
