"With a background in environmental science, and a long-time love of drawing plants and animals, I discovered my dream degree, Natural History Illustration degree at University of Newcastle - the perfect blend of art and science! I took a dive into study again and this is where I was first introduced to scratchboard. I really didn't like it at first! But after trying again with different materials and it soon became an addictive way to create. I'm very drawn to starting with an ink black surface and scratching away to reveal highlights and form. Also, being a details kind of person, I love the large amount of detail you can achieve with scratchboard in a relatively small area. I'm a Master Scratchboard Artist with the International Society of Scratchboard Artists (ISSA), with most of my art practice dedicated to bringing Australian flora and fauna to life in scratchboard." - Linda Lunnon
